What is Offcut?
Offcut is a toolkit of five AI-assisted tools for After Effects: Effect Finder, Error Assistant, Beat Marker, Expression Builder and Performance Optimizer. It is built to take the repetitive, time-consuming parts out of motion design and video editing.
Will Offcut change my project without asking?
No. Offcut recommends and explains. Where a tool can make changes, such as the Performance Optimizer, you review and approve them before anything is applied.
Can I trust the expressions it generates?
The Expression Builder shows you the generated code, explains its controls and validates it where possible. You can read it before you copy it or apply it to a property.
What can I paste into the Error Assistant?
Error messages and expression errors. It explains what is wrong, why it happened and how to fix it, and can walk you through troubleshooting step by step.
How does Beat Marker decide where the beats are?
It analyses your music for strong beats and transients, and can optionally identify bars and phrase changes. You choose how sensitive the detection is: subtle, medium or aggressive.
